How to clean Electrostatic air Filters?

When cleaned as directed, your Electrostatic Air Tech filters will give you many years of trouble free use. Failure to properly clean the filter may lessen filter effectiveness, and as with any air filters, it is possible for an excessive dirt buildup to cause air flow resistance sufficient to damage other ventilation components. Make sure you place the filter with the arrow facing the intake side.

Simply remove the furnace air filter.

Flush with garden hose, water in opposite direction of air flow arrow.

Spray with 409 cleaner to remove stubborn stains only when necessary

Rinse thoroughly to remove remaining dirt.

Drain excess water drip dry and reinstall.
After installation of your new air filters, check after the first month to determine the frequency of cleaning. The normal is a two month cleaning interval. Our filters have a holding capacity of 165 grams, giving you prolonged cleaning intervals.
If you have pets, you might have to clean them more frequently.

Don't Blow dry nor wash the filters in a dishwasher! You will melt the media. Use cold water! Don't use high pressure system such as a steam cleaner, you will destroy the media.

Always backwash your filter in the opposite direction of the arrow, never backwash your filter from both sides, you will pack in the particulates and loose your air flow and damage your filter. Also, you will void the warranty.
Just because you don't see dust doesn't mean your filter isn't working, the human hair is approx. 70 microns your filter is filtering between 1-3 microns. Plan on a two month cleaning interval, if you have pets check each month.

Air-Tech Systems, Inc. warrants its filters to be free from defects in material and workmanship, to the original purchaser, for the life of the unit in which it is installed. If an Air-Tech filter is determined to be defective in materials or workmanship, it will be repaired or replaced without charge to the customer. For claims under this warranty, defective filters should be returned to the place of purchase along with proof of purchase, an explanation of the defect, and shipping charges prepaid. This limited warranty covers materials and workmanship only and shall not apply to any Air-Tech Systems, Inc. filter which has been modified or altered in any way, or which has been subject to misuse, excessive heat, exposure to ultraviolet, or improper installation. Customer disassembly of the filter will void this warranty. Other than this written warranty, there are no other warranties expressed, implied, or otherwise made regarding the merchantability or fitness of this product for a particular use.
